Are you seeking a place where your experience and hard work are honored and appreciated?

Are you looking for an opportunity to help neurodiverse students thrive socially and emotionally?

Are you looking to work with a team that collaborates and makes student-centered decisions?

We seek a passionate and positive-minded counselor who wants their time and dedication to make a difference. We want teachers who know the value of trauma-informed care in a community of compassion and kindness. We value experience, a positive attitude, and a willingness to collaborate and work hard.

Bridges Middle School is a one-of-a-kind place not only for our students but also for our staff. While our decision-making goal is always centered around what best serves our students, we recognize that teaching and counseling are time-consuming careers that take dedication. We recognize the importance of self-care, time to rest, and rejuvenate, so we can be the educators and counselors that our kids deserve.

Send us an inquiry and begin your journey to a place where excellent teachers and counselors are the reason for our success.

Bridges Middle School is located in trendy Portland, Oregon’s largest city. We sit one block away from the Willamette River, with views of snow-capped Mt. Hood. Washington Park is just up the hill, the Portland Art Museum is a 22-minute walk and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is across the Tilikum walking bridge. Portland is known for its parks, bicycle paths, and bridges.

Our name reflects our city, and most importantly our commitment to building bridges for our students and families to close the gap often created with students with learning differences. We have assembled a staff that provides an outstanding educational experience for our students, in every class, every day. We seek a passionate counselor who wants their time and dedication to make a difference while working with incredible students and families. If this sounds like you, we would love to meet with you!

Bridges Middle School is one of the few schools in Oregon devoted to students with learning differences and the only one focused exclusively on the middle school years. Bridges offers 5th through 8th grade students small class sizes, differentiated instruction, and a safe place to learn and grow. For many Bridges students, this means the difference between effective learning and being passed along. It means positive social and emotional growth rather than isolation or bullying. Bridges Middle School does more than prepare our students for high school. We transform lives. Bridges students learn to navigate school— and life—with confidence and competence.

Bridges Middle School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Bridges Middle School does not discriminate based on national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, hiring practices, and other school-administered programs.
